Connecticut Pregnancy Exposure Information Service

As a state-funded program, the Pregnancy Exposure Information Service provides up-to-date information on all types of exposures during pregnancy or breastfeeding for Connecticut residents or women who have Connecticut physicians.

This service is a member of The Organization of Teratology Information Services (OTIS). Click to find a similar OTIS program that services your area

We are a resource for pregnant women and their partners, those planning a pregnancy, or health care providers who wish information regarding medications, radiation, infectious diseases, substance abuse, and occupational and environmental exposures.

Free telephone counseling is offered to the majority of persons calling the Pregnancy Exposure Information Service. In some cases, personal counseling is recommended based on the complexity of an exposure and the predicted risks. There is no fee for this service.

Patient-readable fact sheets regarding various exposures in pregnancy are available upon request or on-line at OTIS (Organization of Teratology Information Specialists).
