Embryonic Developmental Expression Chronograms (EDECs)

We have begun test of our ability to recognize developmentally significant patterns of GFP intensity within 2D EDEC representations of 4D 2-photon microscope recordings. Adjacent display or color-overlay representation allows the eye to readily perceive highly similar patterns. In addition, more subtle similarities between developmentally related patterns from overlapping sets of expressing cells (e.g. hypodermal expression of eff-1p and ajm-1) are visually recognizable in the positions and shapes of curved traces within the images.
